Covid-19 changes
Due to the coronavirus and social distancing measures, we have had to make some changes to the way that we operate.
Arrival / check-in & departure/check-out
If we are at home, the cottage will be open and the key left inside the door. We’ll come out and say hello but won’t show you into and around the cottage.
If we are out, the key will be in the key safe to the right of the cottage door. We will send you the code. It opens from the top and you may have to pull quite hard to open it.
When you leave, please put the key on the shelf next to the door, or in the key safe.
During your stay
Everything in the cottage is fairly standard and we’re sure you’ll know how the appliances etc. work. Manuals for the washer-dryer, dishwasher and oven are in the plastic folder in the cottage, if you need them. We have a combi-boiler so hot water starts automatically when you turn on the hot tap/shower. It takes a little while to run hot.
We have removed some items from the kitchen that are less frequently used, along with some of the cooking ingredients. There is still salt, pepper, oil and vinegar in the cupboard and we hope that you will still have all the essentials you need.
Please can you keep the cottage as clean as possible during your stay. Cleaning products, cloths, gloves etc. are under the kitchen sink.
Covid-19 cleaning
We’re following the cleaning protocols published by the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers based on Scottish Government guidance. To help us follow the cleaning protocols we would be grateful if you could do these things.

Before you leave
- Take the duvet cover and pillowcases off the bedding and put them into a black plastic bin liner. There are bin liners under the sink in the kitchen. Put the towels and tea towels into the same bag.
- Open the windows in the living area, bathroom and bedroom. If it’s raining and/or very windy, just open them a small amount and don’t open the skylights or the side window in the bedroom.
- Remove all rubbish and recycling and put it in the outside bins.
- Please don’t leave any food or drink in the fridge or cupboards.
Should you feel unwell during your stay, details of medical services are in the folder.
